The darkness has been growing from mere shadows for centuries. Those driving the darkness have always feared, hated, and shunned the light. A relative few of the darkest; the most evil, throughout the years and the world, showed the rest of the world a little of what festered below whatever passed for civilization at the time. The darkness will push back the light for a little while. For approximately seven years, maybe a little more, but in the meantime darkness strains against its chains, it's hatred of the light. Too many have lost their fear of consequences or never actually experienced it to learn to fear it. No bail. No jail. Teaching those that run in the shadows not to fear the light is one of their ultimate goals.
