Long before 2027, Trump - or at least his presidency - is going to collapse.
Retirement?
Invocation of the 25th Amendment?
The unavoidable realization that Trump rambles and rants all night on social media.
And they simply can't have him do it all day long as well.
American History Professor, Heather Cox Richardson starts today's "Letter from an American" with this simple, flat, declarative sentence: "There is the unmistakable feeling that the wheels are coming off the MAGA bus." https://heathercoxrichardson.substack.com/p/april-21-2026
And so it is.
The old, spent man continuously rambles, insults and lies because it's what he has done his whole life, and these behaviors come to him so naturally that engaging in them camouflages his mental decline which would be immediately evident if he had to "make sense" while sticking to one consistent narrative. But his followers have become as crazy as he is and so, temporarily, normalcy has been trumped by abnormalcy.
Invocation of The 25th Amendment may be nearer than we think.
The sick man babbles all night on Truth Social.
"They" cannot have him babbling in ways that are manifestly demented during the daytime too.
