Indiana has both an excise tax and a use tax on gasoline. The usage tax is 7%. This is the tax the governor suspended. It will save Hoosiers approximately $.17 per gallon during the 30 day suspension. Indiana has one of the highest combined state and federal taxes on gasoline at about $.71 per gallon.
