It's not a steak until it's an animal muscle that has been specifically sliced into a 1-1.5" slab of meat. And it isn't necessarily from a cow, either. Steaks can be from pigs, ostrich, kangaroo, buffalo, rhinoceros, goat, sheep, hippo, tapir, sharks, tuna, marlin, squid, octopus, skipjack, whale, walrus, seal, sea lion, snake, etc.
And the cow in the image is not " higher" per se, since you can clearly see mountains that are in fact at a higher elevation.
