Affordable energy is the foundation for the rest of the economy

Cheaper to buy oil and ship it across the ocean then pump our own. Never made sense to me

The unspoken word has always been about reserves. Draining oil from other countries while preserving our own is a long term strategy.

USA will eventually have the largest reserves. If only we can Annex Greenland for its minerals. USA would be set for the next hundred years.

I'm fine with it but the only problem I have is that all fossil fuels are a limited supply. I remember watching an oil guy one day and he said "people ask me when we're going to start running out of oil and I tell them we started running out of oil the day the first barrel was taken out of the ground".

I'd almost like to see everyone else run out of their supply first, then we can start going after ours deciding who gets it (places like Britain) and who doesn't (China).

Hoping everybody runs out of theirs first is not exactly optimal, especially just give it other countries. If they want out of it first, that means we run out of it next sooner.

What we're doing is squeezing the last drops out of already almost dried sponge. The last drops that were supposed to get used by the next generation. And we're not just running out of oil, we're running out of water. The Cannibal Riots of 2065 will not be pleasant. Although it will take care of the world overpopulation problem.
