In New York, we are required to present ID when we register to vote.
From what I hear, that tends to be the case throughout the United States of America.

I'd love it if they started requiring permits to shovel snow. I'd just never get a permit and I wouldn't shovel the snow.

If you honestly believe some policy or whatever subject merits criticism, shouldn't it itself suffice? Or must it be contorted and reconstructed in order to turn it into some over-fluffed balloon to throw tin foil-wrapped balsa darts at?

You think I invented that in my own little brain? Can you freely shovel snow without a permit? Maybe you never shoveled snow before because you don't live in NYC. How's the weather in Florida these days?
