It was mainly in the Victorian Era where women was obliged to work for men and the nobles, in the 1880s women were tools only made for housekeeping, taking care of their children and husbands and truly educated women where very rare and those who were experienced in science and physics were considered as lunatics or barbarians who didn't deserve education, but it also the time where women did start entering more into education but again through incredible struggles

They didn't hang women for being intelligent and accuse them of being witches in the 1880s though.......that was pre 1700s......
