I could get snarky and point out that your comment is self-defeating vis a vis the reference to disabled comments juxtaposed with the fact that you're commenting but let's skip all that and focus on the real issue -specifically that there is merit to disabling comments because it breaks the reactionary cycle, forces the reader to cogitate rather than simply engage in knee-jerk responses that feel good in the moment, engender a sense of participation while allowing the point of a political statement to be marginalized, ignored out of hand.
