That RULE OF LAW also states that if one agent is concerned for the life of another agent, or the general public, it is reasonable to use deadly force.
1. Prior to Agent Ross getting hit by Renee's keen driving skills, could he have thought that the fellow officer with his arm in her window was endangered by her driving her car in reverse to shake him from unlocking her door ? & then put it into drive ?
2.Could Becca being in such proximity on the other side of the car been endangered by Renee putting the vehicle in reverse on an icy surface, and then into drive to make her escape?
Tragedy all the way around. It'd be nice if Renee had left her car parked. That sadly did not happen. Officer Ross will have to live out his life knowing he took another human life in the line of duty. He is only human, and likely lives amongst neighbors. When an officer pulls their weapon, it is used with deadly force, and used with intent to nullify the threat posed.
People may lament that he should have just shot her tires out. That is simply not their training.
It might be nice if ICE can learn from this incident and carry pocket SPIKE STRIPS
to be used as SOP on ALL caravan protestor vehicles, creating traffic jams during ICE operations.
