At work some idiot drove off before I began to move to get out of the way after pumping his gas. If I had moved my foot 1/4 inch in the wrong direction he would've ran over my foot. There's a reason why I wear steel tipped footwear at work.
That's terrible. It's good you wear safety shoes, though I'm not sure that they would have done much to protect your toes if that guy did run over your feet. I respect safety gear and wear it when needed, but I don't expect it to make me invincible.
It actually would have helped. I worked as a temp in a factory before I joined the military and the forklift operator set the scrap container down on my foot while we were loading it. The shoes worked, no damage to my foot.
ICE AND OTHER LAW ENFORCEMENT NEED TO START WEARING SAFETY VESTS WHILE ON THE JOB. WHY? BECAUSE THEY ARE ALSO 'I GET TO SUE YOUR ASS BECAUSE YOU(CUSTOMER/PROTESTER) INJURED ME WHILE I WAS ON THE JOB VESTS.'
