Humans get corrupted their entire lives. People who have their shit together in their teens get sucked into the stupidest shit when they are in their 40s. People who don't get their stuff together until their 20s fall apart in their 70s. Some people never figure it out, others never deviate from what's right. Individual character is the only distinction.
Trump is not a dictator. Watch, in three more years he steps aside, unless he pulls an FDR, which isn't likely. We have always had a succession of presidents. People were begging Obama to run for a third term, there were some who even wanted him to be leader for life. Did it happen? No. Will it happen with Trump. No. Why waste your thoughts on it. And as for burning America to the ground, before you strike the match you better take a hard look at the alternatives. None of them are better than what we have.
Maduro lost 2 elections and refused to relinquish the presidency of Venezuela. Maduro enriched himself to the tune of around $700 million, and impoverished the citizens of Venezuela, so much so that they fled to Brazil and other neighboring countries to escape his tyranny. He was arrested on indictment warrants from the SDNY, not for dictatorship or any other reason. He'll have his day in court.
Liberals used to be pragmatic. Libs and conservatives used to agree on what the problems are, and disagree on solutions. Things generally worked. Libs have gotten so extreme that they can't agree corruption is bad. They can't agree that deadly drugs have no place on our streets. It was one thing to smoke too much pot, they woke up covered in Twinkie wrappers and potato chips with a hacking cough, but people are getting fentanyl without wanting it or expecting it and dying. How is that right? If you want to play with it, that's one thing, but if you think you're getting coke and get it cut with nothing you want and die? Not the party you expected.
