One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their ow | image tagged in charlie brown and snoopy, grinch, merry christmas | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
One may keep secular traditions and still fulfill the commandment of God, silly person. Try to enjoy the holidays anyways.

Also-

Col 2:16 - Let NO man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an HOLYDAY, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:17 - Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

You would use the accomplishments of Jesus Christ (the verses you shared) which broke God's chosen away from religion to justify your thinking?! Where did you get your training?! Christmas is religious! (Do you know the difference between a genuine relationship with God as His child and religion?) Who (in the world) dictated Christmas is an HOLYDAY?! Again, religious. (Actually it was given to us by the Roman Catholic Church not that long after it was founded around the mid 4th century under Constatine. The blending of pagan practices into Christianity. For political convenience.) No "Pope," no man is above God's Word. Jesus was born on September 3rd. 3 BC. And it doesn't take tracking the astronomy of Revelation 12:1 to see it. Just knowing the culture concerning the shepherds that came to see the baby Jesus should show he wasn't born in December for most. They're in the fields with the flocks right after the harvest for about a month. So the critters can feed on what got left behind and their dung would fertilize the fields. NOT at the beginning of winter. They'd freeze their butts off! And it gives virtually no time for the dung to break down. And the wise guys didn't show up until Jesus was a toddler. In Bethlehem.

But who/what do traditions say was born on December 25th? Horus 3000 BC, Osiris 3000 BC, Attis 1400 BC, Zarathustra 1000 BC, Heracles 800 BC, Mithra 600 BC, Buddha 563 BC, Tamuz 400 BC, Dionysus 186 BC, and there's more.

You do realize Satan is the god of this world of men, right? I pray you see the pattern. He seems to have a liking for the birth of his false gods to be on December 25th.

Do what you will with the truth. It can get prickly, I know. I pray I'm wrong, but you seem to want to defend your error. That you're comfortable with it. I feel like I'm casting pearls where they don't belong.

Keep you nuggets of widsom; I'm Catholic. The early Church fathers and greatest minds through the ages spent their lives devoted to prayer and the knowledge of scripture (when they weren't being martyred for the faith) for the until Luther thought better of all of them. You I am sure have a very specific and narrow view of scripture, the thing is, Bible only Protestants can't even agree on which version of the Bible is the 'correct' one, let alone what translation to use. Sol Scriptura's fatal flaw. Jest because 'something isn't in the Bible' doesn't mean it is proscribed.

Soul, please understand that there are some major flaws in the early vulgate manuscripts. Entire passages are left out, blank spaces are left where the scribe intended to go back and finish it, and other passages are copied twice. I don't see many people learning Greek or Hebrew, so it's important that you read the Bible you will read, understanding the flaws in every translation. This in no way diminishes the credibility of the original scriptures, we can trust the Bible.
The Catholic church has some serious flaws too, governed by self serving men. Early Popes purchased the position, going to the highest bidder. Luther spoke out against indulgences, claiming if you pay a priest he can pray a deceased unbelieving loved one into heaven. Prostitution rings were run out of the Vatican, and the Catholic church murdered more Christians than any other entity. The Huguenots being one such example. the Catholic church also persecuted early translators, such as Wycliffe and Tyndale because of the belief only priests could handle the scriptures.
After saying all this, every institution of man is flawed, just believe Christ, the solid Rock.

Yeah, I figured this would draw some Roman Catholics. Hate that for ya. I've seen too much to put tradition over truth. It was RC's that gave us the KJV... which is why it takes so much effort to get to the truth with all the mistranslations of words and by adding to it... injecting their own theology into it at times. But it's the best we have for research.

The only ones that were martyred after the RCC got underway were the ones that disagreed with that system of control and wouldn't shut up. Censorship to its max. Which is what caused the last Dark Ages. They've never been concerned about godly wisdom... let alone any nuggets of it. Just power and riches as its history shows. Ain't nuthin' new under the sun.

The KJV was the 'authorized' version of the British Crown (Church of England), truncated of the 7 Books of the Deuterocanon by Luther's time because he wanted to erase any and all reference direct or indirect of the existence of Purgatory, didn't want to use the RC Latin Vulgate or the Douay-Rheims. The saints I know about are among those who were martyred in ancient Rome by the very pagan non-Christian Romans, when the first popes (also martyrs) lived in the catacombs with the believers; Spanish, and Portuguese missionaries and their converts in 16th Century Japan, missionaries to America tortured and maimed by the Iroquois, and in Africa by pagan chieftains, more recently priests who were tortured and died in Nazi death camps and in Communist Soviet gulags. Expand your reading outside of "Fox's Book of Martyrs".

Yes, Christmas uses a majority of pagan relics, as you say, from when Constantine blended Christianity into paganism. The yule log, christmas tree and so many other things come straight out of Babylonian paganism worshipping Tammuz, none of it is commanded in the scriptures. That said, the leadership of almost every church has done nothing to correct this for 1500 years. The account they have to give for their actions will be tough. Now for us, we have to be Christlike- merciful, long suffering, informative based on scripture and loving as we explain this heresy. Easter is the same pagan worship of the goddess of fertility named Ishtar. The worship of the creation instead of the creator is straight from the father of lies. Abortion is an extension of child sacrifice to Molech. Only Christ can save us.

Correction. Jesus was born on September 11, 3 BC. (And I spelled Constantine wrong. As you can read, I had a lot of things on my mind to help others see the truth.)

You're lack of understanding... and discipleship... is showing. You took that out of context in an effort to justify your wrong thinking. That's not handling God's Word honestly. I'm not judging anyone. Ambassadors for Christ are expected to speak the truth. To warn every man. Do what'cha want. You and you alone are responsible for your behavior.

I enjoy every day. For what it is. How could anyone "enjoy" a holiday that is based on lies? That has those that love God going against His desire for His children to put away such carnal crap as Christmas?! It's got parents lying to their children and building a lust in people at a young age for unearned material things! Suicides run high this time of year because of all this malarky. Deaths due to DUI always spike this time of year due to alcohol consumption with all the partying. In fact the month of December is the worse month of the year for that. Is this your idea of "the most wonderful time of the year?"

But... of course... you or no one else will see any of this until they do their own research on it.

Listen people. You have to understand the context of any scripture to allow it to interpret itself. You can say the Bible says there is no god... and you'd be correct. But that's not what it means if you read the first part of the verse.

Jesus taught that we would know false prophets by their fruit. It's not hard to see most churches are religious. They'll even admit it. You have to understand genuine Christianity is not religion. Religion is man-made forms of worship. Christianity is God's design to father children (spiritually) and His children rejecting the principalities of this world. Which is unrighteousness. As it's laid out in the Word of God. We (God's children) are told to sanctify ourselves. To separate ourselves from the carnal. To put on the new man. It's not called born again for nothing!

Religion is the vehicle by which people become aware of Christianity. Christianity is lived in the believer and practiced as a religion when believers come together to worship, as has been commanded by God through the Bible. There are aspects of Christianity which are 'man made' (Catholicism calls them "traditions" with the lower-case "t"), and there are "Traditions" with the big-T aka Dogma, (revealed Truth) which are beliefs that are non-negotiable. You are quick to criticize the 'man-made' aspect of organized religion when it is through same, even if only by which you have a Bible to read and pray with. Belief didn't come to you from a vacuum, unless you were blessed to witness like St. Paul who received his revelation directly from God. If only all believers were fortunate to have his certainty.

And the beauty is that through careful study and diligent prayer we can have his certainty. Merry Christmas- not the pagan version, but the version by the Church that celebrates the event, not the day.
