When our government actually did its job, it wasn't that bad, but now the companies have corrupted the government, and the government has failed to regulate the companies, that's why the air smells of chemicals, and shit in the Midwest when you get a eastern wind. Plus they have unregulated the farmer, so he can get away with spraying what ever whenever, with the vow that they will read the label and apply accordingly, yet having a contract to abide by with some particular seed companies., then you have the foreign national farms, and God only know what they are up to, and how much money they are paying off the state and feds to operate in America. Government is a good thing if it is ran by people who can say to to bribery, and yes to protection of the safety and well-being of its nation, it's nations resources, and it's peoples well being and safety.
