Yes but no. When a person comes to the US legally, they assimilate into the US while giving up a chunk of their old county's traditions, mainly the bad ones. What they keep is hopefully the best part of those traditions. When those good traditions are added to he 'melting pot' then it can become new which maybe everyone can enjoy.
Illegals however want to keep all their traditions including the bad ones. . .and it's those bad traditions that hurt and even ruin the lives of people.
