The problem with whataboutisms is that basically you're saying that you agree.

Somebody said Trump is senile, and you say but these are both here are senile because they did the same thing Trump did. That means you agree that Trump is senile. Hence why the denial when you're basically agreeing with that that you're trying to deny?
