"Obamacare" - was "Romneycare" - which was a private, for-profit scam - designed to keep healthcare controlled by unelected and uncontrollable Insurance Companies. It was designed as a substitute for a truly human and humane system of socialized medicine, which would be a single-payer system - which even a Koch Brothers' study found would lower costs overall.
A socialized system could be designed to be burdensome and onerous, inefficient, restrictive and bureaucratic... OR, it could be designed to allow patients full freedom over their medical choices, including which Doctors they engage with. I would envision a system like the Pentagon's budget - where money is no object, and the only factors would be the agreement between patients and their physicians, about what needs to be done. Proper medical ethics, and fully informed consent could be built-in, with patient health and outcomes the primary concern, rather than industry profits. Patients and Docs agree on what's needed and to be done - and Government just cuts the checks, without butting-inbetween, or hassling either.
