At his trial, SBF faced seven counts including:
• two counts of wire fraud
• two counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud
• one count of conspiracy to commit securities fraud
• one count of conspiracy to commit commodities fraud
• one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering
• The trial took place in late 2023. A jury found him guilty on all seven counts on November 2, 2023.
• On March 28, 2024, SBF was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison.
• He was also ordered to forfeit $11 billion.
• The sentencing statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office said he misappropriated billions of dollars of customer funds, defrauded investors of more than $1.7 billion, and defrauded lenders of more than $1.3 billion.
Look for Trump to commute his sentence like he did for George Santos. Trump is very sympathetic to fraudsters.
