Most often it's about the types of equipment they were trained to use, the functioning -- or not -- of the supplies systems, and then . . . alas . . . medical benefits.

I'm currently watching two WWII historians separately talk about the same campaigns and so forth from two different perspectives, One is male and the other is female and both have got gray hair and wrinkle lines. Neither departs all that far from the other but where they do differ is interesting. Victor Davis Hanson is one of them, by the way.

Ow. I don't know why the generalization of boomers bugs me, but it does. I know it's the retreads that deserve it. My "technology" experience predates Apple and Windows with keypunch cards, COBOL and FORTRAN, things got lazy with DOS. Gen X thinks I can't even use a camera with a phone app attached to it. If I mock them for not being able to use a microfische their eyes gloss over. I can research more accurate data at a library than I ever get from google.
I watched too many college acquaintances carry Chairman Mao's Little Red Book around campus because it made it easier to get laid by the marxist women's libbers. Me? I was all in on the Reagan Revolution like a lot of the boomers who didn't fall for the 60s-70s sex and drugs- now rock and roll was a different matter.
