I don't think anyone that has a mental illness should have dangerous weapons.

I think it used to be law. . .and common sense.

Also can be a slippery slope of disarming citizens though. If the law gets to decide who has a mental illness - or uses intrusive methods to get medical data (removing HIPPA) to find people who can't have firearms...

They already do that to a point for people who have medical marijuana cards & I know some people who were not happy with that decision.

Yeah, it would have to be multiple doctors chosen at random and only after an incident of violence.
