How are federal workers heroes?

There are some very sick and twisted definitions of heroism out there. Summer reading programs try to convince kids that reading is heroic. Somehow I doubt they succeeded.....

After WW2, government was bloated and running a huge deficit. If history hasn't been rewritten yet, 50% of the government employees were let go, this reducing the deficit. The government remains bloated even with all the cullings since the end of January. More want to leave? Sweet.
