Cancel culture revolves around differences of opinions or beliefs. What is occurring now regarding the assassination of Charlie Kirk is different. People are displaying publicly their immorality in celebrating a murder. Employers have a right to not be associated with that behavior. It’s no different than professional sports teams letting athletes go for criminal behavior or illegal drug use.

The first amendment is a covenant between the people and the state. It does not cover private enterprise. If I disparage my employer to its customers, I will likely be fired. People who publicly display immorality by celebrating a murder, can expect to become disassociated from their employer.
