Maybe he went to Heaven and God allowed him to see what happened afterwards, and/or maybe some of his friends joined him in Heaven and told him what happened. I wonder how he would have reacted when he learned that his prom date turned out to be an evil arsonist/mass murderer.

maybe. but i don't think Carrie was evil by choice. she was dealing with puberty and the hormonal mood swings, along with an abusive mother (in the book she gets put in a closet for i want to say 7-8 hours because she talked back to her mother about being able to even go to prom).
