Doubt it, a religion that has lasted 2 thousand years with billions of active members isnt exactly the type to just be based on hopes and dreams. Now, I could get into the psychology and philosophy on this in a neutral perspective but I'd prefer I do that if someone wants me to instead of just posting and pushing onto anyone that is fortunate enough to view it.

Not necessarily, considering that the basis of most monotheistic religions not based off of nature worship work off of improving moral and ethical bases to improve life as it is (disregarding whether or not the religion is true for the sake of discussion), and the saviorship figure not based on owing anything to a figure of power and just promising you'll work to improve as a result of accepting truths, it is much less about going to "heaven" than it is actually making life better in this mortal coil, which hopefully, religious or not, is something everyone should strive to do.

What made me most skeptical of the Christian God is the fact that Yahweh isn't an original concept and did not originate with Christianity itself. Some versions of Yahweh come from other religions which preceded Christianity. Which is very weird for something claiming to be the sole true religion.
