You’re missing the point as to why people were criticizing American Eagle.
In the ad campaign, they used the slogan that Sydney Sweeney “had good jeans,” which can be interpreted as then saying she has good genes, or genetics. It promotes the “blue eyes, blonde hair” beauty standard that a lot of particularly evil people in the world, cough cough Hitler cough cough, believed to be “ideal” and “correct.”
I don’t personally think that way, I think the ad campaign is fine. But insulting the left based on the words of a few people shows how really fragile the people who use the politics stream are. I’m not saying all republicans can’t see something they don’t agree with and immediately respond with an insult, I’m saying you can’t see something you don’t agree with and immediately respond with an insult.
