Fourth, late night talk shows ceased being interesting about twenty years ago. | Comedian Steven Colbert's talk show was cancelled by CBS just days after he blasted the company's settlement with Trump as 'big fat bribe'. First, He was a political propagandist. Second, he was never funny. Third, that financial settlement was because CBS couldn't beat Trump in court over interfering with the 2024 election. | image tagged in the rock driving | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

Goodbye and good riddance to a major POS. He’ll probably start another TDS-infected podcast. That seems to be the route that most of the fired lefty tv hosts have been taking lately. Whatever he ends up doing next, I know that we both couldn’t care less.

Now watch CBS hire. . .I dunno. . .Samantha Bee. . .to fill the spot.(Remember her show on TBS?)

I wouldn’t be surprised if they hired her. I never watched her show either. The last time that I watched any of those shows was when Craig Ferguson was the host of The Late Late Show.

I think this signals CBS sliding a little bit toward the political center with their 'entertainment' shows -- having finally read the room regarding the fed-up-to-the-gills attitude of the average citizen with leftist political propaganda.

They all went completely off the deep end when Trump got elected the first time. I’m glad that we have “Gutfeld!”.

He's literally the only reason why I watch FOX. . .just his show. I won't even watch The Five.

That’s the way it is for me, too. I used to watch The Five and Mark Levin’s show.

Got real sick of Mark's "I worked for Reagan." "I was friends with Rush Limbaugh." "I am a friend of President Trump." every. . .single. . .broadcast!

Working for Reagan that long ago is a meh thing even among Reagan fans nowadays.

Every time I hear "I was a friend of Rush Limbaugh." by Mark(and Hannity, and whoever) my mental reply is, "How come you weren't hand picked to be his successor for his radio show?"

My reply to Friends with Trump is, "How come you aren't working for his administration?"

I agree. I got tired of all that crap as well. I quit watching Hannity 6 or 7 years ago for the same reasons.

Never watched him, now I have even more of a reason not to

The same for me.

But I think he's going to be on the air until the end of August and so it should still be amusing as he 'progressively' goes ballistic on air. The rants should be fabulous.

I read on a couple of different sites that he’s supposed to stay until May of 2026. I’m not 100% sure. I guess they have to let him finish out his contract. Not only is he being fired, apparently they’re also cancelling “The Late Show” completely. The show that Letterman started after he left NBC. It’s definitely no loss.

Yes. It was CBS' choice to turn it into strictly a political propaganda rant fest with a known Trump-hater. They went WOKE and the show went BROKE.

To the tune of losing $40 million a year in ad revenue for the last 7 years. Some of the crazies on the left are accusing CBS of firing Colbert as a “political favor” to Trump. After all of the 💩 that they’ve said about him on “60 Minutes” and other shows for the last 10 years that’s pretty far-fetched even for them.

I think that part of this might consist of the shutting down of the Left's USAID slush fund. I'm speculating that the three broadcast companies secretly got enough USAID funds to balance out their losses so that they could continue to afford being the Dem Party's political propaganda arms. Of course I may also be entirely wrong about that.

I could see that happening. The same way that MSNBC and CNN both manage to stay afloat despite their low ratings. Plus all of that Big Pharma money coming in helped a lot.

Makes sense to me.

Me, too.

Also partly explain why CNN and MSNBC are still on the air with their abysmal ratings that would get any other regular TV show canceled after airing the pilot/first episode.

I agree. Without SOME under the table funding the media companies wouldn't keep either of those endless money sinks funded and on the air . . . especially after if finally became obvious even to their in-house pollsters that the general public is FINALLY sick and tired of being endlessly lied to by their professional political propaganda on-air experts.

I read an article explaining the cancelling of the show. Apparently, the show has lost over 50% of its revenue over the past 5 years and the show was losing over $40 million a year. Since Paramount bought CBS last year, Paramount has been getting rid of programs that were losing money, it's an easy business decision.

But of course, it's all Trump's fault. It has nothing to do with the show losing viewership and ad revenue for years.

Yes, and this isn't a time critical thing since it's going to be on the air until sometime around the first quarter or so of 2026. If it were for Trump's benefit they would have taken it off the air by the end of this week. It's really just bottom line fiscal stuff; but we also know it's because WOKE is toxic to the bottom line numbers in any run long business scenario.
