Yes. Or maybe if you built a society that didn't disenfranchise so many people, create mass wealth inequality, glorify gun violence, and recognized disabled people, you might also have a society without one of the highest prison populations on earth.

Look up the percentage of prisoners with dyslexia or who are even illiterate. It's absurdly high.

If your country was genuinely a Christian country that cared about Christian values and helping the poor, marginalized and "sinners", you wouldn't have millions of people incarcerated. This is a total failure and a stain on your society.

Am I? Or you mean yourself? I just find it a bit weird that the prison population (not just in the US btw) has a much higher-than-average rate of people with dyslexia, learning disabilities and even functional illiteracy (especially in some of the richest countries on earth). That alone should give any rational person pause. It's one thing if people are in prison because they're just "bad" people. It's another if a large percentage of those incarcerated lack basic literacy skills or were born with/suffer with learning disabilities. That's the kind of thing I find disturbing and that keeps me up at night... Because that suggests something more complex is going on.
