In the Dilbert comics, there's a character like this named Wally. Wally is the worst employee you could possibly imagine, and he's based off of an actual person Scott Adams knew at Pacific Bell. This person made a mistake with proprietary info. He didn't gett fired, but he was told he would never get a raise or a promotion again. So he knew had to quit.
HR had a bizzare downsizing plan at the time where the worst 10 percent of employees would be paid to quit peacefully. So this man decided to be the worst employee you could possibly imagine in order to leave with money.
