And why should they? It is an obscure celebration day for one state in the Union. It should never have been anything more than that sort of localized celebration event.

A Celebration of US troops (lead by Republicans) freeing the last Democratic held slaves in Texas.

Juneteenth marks the end of slavery in the U.S. That a pretty big deal, and should be a national holiday.

It does not mark the end of slavery in the U.S. It marks when the slaves in Texas finally and officially heard that they were freed . . . two years after they were actually freed.

That show didn't exist when June teenth was made a federal holiday....

That’s the point, it wasn’t even known about. Except in Texas and Milwaukee. Hence the $250,000 question.

Well, that’s because it has been historically a Texas celebration. Only in the last few years, since Joke Biden created the National Holiday in order to pander for votes, have the national media paid any attention to it.
Interesting fact, according to”Wikipedia” it is also celebrated in Northern Mexico.
Why? You got me.

Be woke, just say “Happy Holiday”

And Milwaukee, free beer, great food. Had my Slumdog Millionaire moment. That’s why I remember the question being $250,000.

Yeah.

i was going for "raging, then taking a day to try and be pious as politicians spend the day pandering."

The meme shows the historical perspective of Juneteenth Day. It was so obscure that it was actually a $250,00 question. That’s because Americans didn’t know about it. (I did because I went to one in Milwaukee). Until it became political, and pandering as you say.

Right after 9/11, Steve Buscemi put his old firefighter suit back on and started volunteering at the station he used to work at.

Somebody trying to make a racial/racist point with this meme?
2 ups, 2d
I worked with many blacks in the Detroit area. Every year I would ask them about Juneteenth Day. Not one, zero, over many years, had ever heard of it. Racist? No, just not a big deal to them.
