that doesn’t mean we should let them mutilate themselves. We should give these people care, support, and counseling to help them feel more comfortable with the body God gave them!

I agree. Much like with Adolf Hitler, I believe, claiming to be of a popular religion is often used as a tool to gather every last miniscule amount of respect possible and justify your actions. Considering a core value of Christianity is to be more like Jesus Christ (a benevolent man and a benevolent deity), I believe much of the government officials who attempt to solve or end transgenderism are either corrupt or ill-advised.
