Why yes, yes they did. In any truly just system those people would now instantly be released and then financially compensated for their pain and suffering at the hands of their own government. But that's not going to happen.
I feel like my choices are either figure out how the hell I'm going to get to Russia and become a useful member of Russian society or go to Nigeria and get beheaded for refusing to denounce Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour.
