One would think you would have heard more scientists advocating the importance of gain-of-function research in improving Healthcare, if that was really what it was for.
i don't know if you know this, but studying is a thing scientists do. it's when they test things to see how it affects populations. to, you know, make better decisions and keep people alive. and, like, cure diseases... 🙂
the generalization here is insane. also...yes? it's not uncommon for people to want to make money. especially not in a country where everything is run by the rich.
Yes and it's also common to skew results toward your donor. If you look at the statistics something like 80% of studies favor the person paying for it. Which is why these studies need to be required by law to be done double blind by a random group rather than a preselected company. At least for any kind of government certification. Like FDA approvals.
