Google should hire someone from Operation Lifesaver to write code for Google Maps. Railroad tracks are private property, and walking on or across them is trespassing, which is a crime, unless you're walking across the tracks at a designated crossing.

It's normal

In total fairness, there is no railroad crossing or road going over that track, and Google maps isn't too keen on risking the life of the driver or (possibly) committing a crime, so it's gonna lead you along the *roads* because you selected *car* directions. If you selected walking directions, I'd be willing to bet it'd tell you to cross that track.
