"The average salary of a federal employee is $106,462. On top of that, they almost always have more holidays & PTO time, better health insurance, and better retirement plans than a private sector employee. And how many federal workers do you think work more than 40 hours a week?…whereas a private sector employee making over $100k will often be working 50-60 hours/week. Private company workers must continuously produce results, or they likely will be out of a job, whereas government workers can usually suck year after year and not only lose keep their jobs but get scheduled pay increases.
So, sorry, I don’t feel the least bit of sympathy right now that they’re faced with the oppressive task of listing 5 things they accomplished. I’m guessing 80-90 percent of the government could go away and most of us would see little or no disruption in our lives. And the disruption we do see will be related to non-essential functions that government itself created. For example, maybe it takes longer at the DMV or longer to get a permit for construction, but these are compliance steps they created to justify their own existence.
Most of us know the unsustainable path we’re on with the national debt, which we’re adding to in trillions every day. To all those complaining about the efforts of DOGE, my answer would be, what would you cut? Give me YOUR solution for balancing the budget! Democrats are not only fighting to the death to stop fraud & waste, they’re even opposing any kind of reduction in defense spending, nor examination of the Pentagon & intelligence agencies…something I thought I’d never witness in my lifetime.
However, this is what happens when you cease all independent thinking and just go along with whatever the mainstream media and your party are pushing. Speaking of the media, it’s perfectly fine to hate them more every day. We know we can find an example of government incompetence every second of every day, but now that Trump & Musk are finally cutting useless spending, you can bet that ANY noticeable failure of government will be blamed on them. It could be an agency of 100,000 people cut by 10 workers. Doesn’t matter…definitely their fault for cutting critical government departments to the bone. 🙄"
