That is not how that works. Murdering babies is way different from say you can’t come here illegally and have babies expecting to anchor oneself here.

It's about valueing the unborn here by giving citizenship and giving them a better chance after birth. Republicans fail on the last part.

It's not about the parents, It's about the newborn.

If the parents weren’t here illegally this would not be an issue. Children are born all over the world. My point was your point is not an equal comparison.

The law says the child is a citizen. Order was halted. HA!

How is it a good thing to give citizenship to a baby and deport the parents?

Explain.

Of course they can't take the child from the parents. There could be a path available for parents to stay, or if not possibly another family member already here. The point is citizenship if they can stay.

No.

That has been time tested.

It doesn't work.

Change the law... that's how that works...

That would be Trump's problem. Good luck.

giving citizenship to a clump of cells from people here illegally is one of the dumbest things this country can do.

The law states that once you're born on American soil you aren't illegal.

That needs to be changed.

I am increasingly of the opinion that the Supreme Court will ultimately uphold President @RealDonaldTrump's Executive Order on "birthright" citizenship. President Trump's interpretation is consistent with the Constitution, federal law, and legal precedent:

The Fourteenth Amendment has always excluded from birthright citizenship persons who were born in the United States but not “subject to the jurisdiction thereof.” Consistent with this understanding, the Congress has further specified through legislation that “a person born in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof” is a national and citizen of the United States at birth, 8 U.S.C. 1401, generally mirroring the Fourteenth Amendment’s text.

Among the categories of individuals born in the United States and not subject to the jurisdiction thereof, the privilege of United States citizenship does not automatically extend to persons born in the United States: (1) when that person’s mother was unlawfully present in the United States and the father was not a United States citizen or lawful permanent resident at the time of said person’s birth, or (2) when that person’s mother’s presence in the United States at the time of said person’s birth was lawful but temporary (such as, but not limited to, visiting the United States under the auspices of the Visa Waiver Program or visiting on a student, work, or tourist visa) and the father was not a United States citizen or lawful permanent resident at the time of said person’s birth.

You don't know the law. Executive orders aren't law which is why this one was stopped. The supreme court defined on 3 exceptions to birthright citizenship. There are only 2 left. None of them include children undocumented immigrants.
