Trump is of course, only referring to ILLEGAL immigrants when he's talking about deportation. (you are aware that he's married to an immigrant, right? and fwiw, so am I... and also fwiw, she's not white)
Actually, it's the media's fault that you believe what Trump says about illegals is how he feels about all immigrants. Why? Because they no longer make a distinction between legal and ILLEGAL immigrants in their reporting. So when they say he wants to do something relative to "immigrants", try hearing the word "illegal" as well, and you'll start to get a more accurate picture.
But seriously, stop and ask yourself, why would the media no longer distinguish between legal and illegal immigrants? The answer is pretty simple. They want YOU to conflate the two. Because that leads to people being easily misinformed about Trump... by them, which of course they want because they're not professional journalists, they're just anti-Trump "journalists"..
"The fact that he dislikes/hates the Spanish community"
The "Spanish community" turned out to vote for Trump in numbers far greater than republicans have ever gotten. I think he even stated in his inaugural address that he would not forget that fact.
Which makes sense if one is being objective. I can't speak for republicans, but I imagine they want to maintain the gains Trump made with the Spanish community. I'm pretty sure they want as many voters as possible from that community to continue to vote for republicans in future presidential elections.
So it makes NO SENSE for Trump to hate the Spanish community.
And that's what you need to do when you see or hear anything about Trump from the media. Take a step back, be objective, and ask yourself if what they're telling you makes sense, especially from Trump's point of view.
You'll discover, as I did, that the media is almost always lying about what Trump said or did when it comes to things like this. (most things, actually...) If you can, do what I do and go to the original video when possible. You could start by watching C-SPAN. Boring? Yes. Truthful? Also yes.
But isn't it worth being bored a little bit to know the truth? Assuming the truth matters to you. I hope it does.
