NOLA says they were in the process of doing upgrades for Super Bowl security on Feb 9, 2025. He was said to have scouted out the entrance from Canal to Bourbon a couple times within a couple hours of the attack, then drove around a police cruiser and accelerated on Bourbon. I can't figure out why he hit the manlift, unless he was going so fast and misjudged it. At any rate he died with the smell of airbags in his sinuses, and hopefully a hot bullet.
