Trans people make up less than 1% of the US population. (It's around 0.6%) The numbers vary since not everyone has transitioned.

Assuming half (0.3%) are in the women's bathrooms, you're only coming across a trans person every 334 people. The amount of trans people that commit sexual assault is so low, that you can't even get a solid number.

Also, you're stupid if you think rapists are going to follow the sign on a bathroom.

Lastly, most sexual predators are not trans.

How would you enforce bathroom laws? Would you recommend hiring someone to stand outside the bathrooms the entire day to check people's genitals?

A $10 camera and a $50 Nvidia card is all it takes, or a crappy cheap smartphone with a custom app.

And what if the person refuses to look at the camera and just go inside? Do you also suggest adding a machine-controlled sliding door that only opens for people who are identified by your face scanner?

Besides that, you're still looking at $60+ for each bathroom. Regulating bathroom use is just not worth the "benefits". Punish people who commit crimes. Don't assume a trans person is going to commit a crime just because they're trans. That would be like banning men from being alone with a woman because there's a chance he could rape her.

Also, I would like a source for "a lot". Generally, most bathroom rapes are older men raping younger boys in the men's bathroom. I don't see why trans people are the biggest issue.

I don't see evidence for this since there aren't guards stopping people from entering bathrooms. I'm a guy (not trans) and if I wanted, I could enter a women's bathroom without an issue. (Unless someone made a deal out of it.)

You don't have to claim to be anything to enter a bathroom since there is no need to even make a claim.

Should we punish sexual predators? Yes of course we should.
Should we ban people who aren't committing assault from entering places? No, because anyone can commit sexual assault and a trans person isn't any more likely to commit than a person who isn't trans. They're probably even less likely since people with more testosterone are more hypersexual.

Personally I think they should just add a "unisex" bathroom. Then males go in the male bathroom females go in the female bathroom and everyone else goes in the unisex bathroom.

I think that's a good idea since some places already have that, but it would cost money. I think it's not as big of an issue as people make it out to be. I think unisex should be an option along with single-person bathrooms so that people can be comfortable and feel safe.
