Incorrect. They have plans in place to automatically debit the pay to seniors as long as they have bank accounts. Only printed checks will be delayed and I don't think we have too many people receiving those unless they are illegal aliens.

So why do we care about a shutdown, then? Surely there’s a reason that the GOP plays hardball every year threatening the shutdown.

I mean in Congress themselves. They have this debacle seemingly every year and they always pass something at the last second to prevent the shutdown. You mean to tell me it’s all just to keep the American people on their toes?

Because if that’s the case, then come midterm elections we need to remove each and every incumbent we can and start fresh with people who won’t do this.
