Fun fact:

When social security was initiated in 1935 the retirement age was set at 65 years of age for both men and women...when the the life expectancy was 59.9 years for men and 63.9 years for women.

In other words, you were eligible to receive retirement payments 1 - 5 years after you were dead.

You were never expected to receive any payments.

Social security was never a means to look after others. It was a way to raise money for a government as bankrupt as its citizens by disguising it as a beneficial system. Initially they kept telling us it wasn’t a tax until it became necessary to call it that to justify keeping it. Same with Obamacare.
