Raydog once posted a meme about finding a sock on the floor. That's it, no humor, nothing, was just about finding a sock on the floor. A gazillion points as usual. Same for everything else he posted. Nice guy, helpful, central to a lot of activity here, but when it came down to it, they were just basic ordinary memes, and some even lesser than that. He was a fad, and everybody jumped on the bandwagon.
RayCat (& Co), on the other hand was centered on a unique characters and templates. So right there you had someone who was known for something other than 40,000 points a day regardless what random anything posted.
