Actually we do not. There are only limited amounts of timber available in the world, as well as other building materials. There is also a limited amount of time with skilled builders, compounded by government regulations, zoning laws and NIMBY crowds. Most importantly, while wealth is ever increasing rather than a fixed pie (the fallacy that people can’t become wealthy except by exploiting others) the same money the government is trillions of dollars in debt. The same money gifted to make transgender surgeries and Ukraine’s graft cannot be used to build housing.
