Thank you.

Thank you. | Dear republicans,
I know you think immigrants are illegals, and shouldn't be let into this country. I can see where you are coming from, but I am here to tell you that you are wrong. Open borders would actually be the best thing that would happen to this country. we would not only survive, we would thrive. "But immigrants take our jobs!" Yes, but they also make them. "Immigrants are dangerous!" No. No they are not. "They'll speed up inflation and raise taxes!" They'll actually do the opposite. Why do you not like them? Because of politics. The only reason immigrants are disliked is because politicians make them look bad. So maybe don't believe everything that comes out of someone's mouth.

You wouldn't let total strangers into your house any more than the border agents should let in people who are "total strangers" (no background checks). 1000s of criminal gang members have entered the country because of no security. Why do you think 'everyone' should come here when a lot of them should have been in prison in their own country?

You do understand the difference between legal and illegal immigration, right?

Yes.
Legal immigrants had to spend the entirety of their life savings which took them years to get, and only after months of paying the fine, they are submitted into the us where the almost certainly live in poverty and hunger.
Illegal immigrants are parents who are completely desperate for their child's wellbeing, and will risk their lives to give their kid a better future.

Pretty simplistic and covered in fallacy

It's part of their fallacy argument.

you mean "effects of LEGAL immigration"
...right?

It's not legal when there are steps outlined by law to become a citizen and the president signs an executive order that counteracts the law.

Like spending billions of dollars to feed, house, and ferry illegals around the country, many of whom are known violent criminals?

I would just like everyone to know, that I am trying to be as respectful as I can in this argument, so attacking me makes you the bad guy.

"Illegal immigrants are a significant net fiscal drain -- paying less in taxes than they use in public services. The primary reason they create more in costs than they pay in taxes is their relative low levels of education. Based on prior research, 69 percent of adult illegal immigrants have no education beyond high school, compared to 35 percent of the U.S.-born. As a result, they tend to earn modest wages and make modest tax contributions even when income and payroll taxes are taken out of their pay. This fact, coupled with the relatively heavy demands they make on public coffers -- especially for education, health care, and means-tested programs -- is the reason they are a net fiscal drain."

Really? Because when I look up immigrants, all I get is "recognizing immigrant heritage month," and "protect young immigrants act"
