Once Carol Mosley Braun (former Illinois Senator) asked how an aircraft could leave at a certain time from the eastern time zone, fly an hour and land in Chicago at the same time it left. The airline tried to explain that Chicago is central time and is an hour behind the eastern but she couldn’t understand it. Then the airline said the plane just goes very fast and she bought the explanation.
