Still not as shitty as any former communist country which is what almost every eastern European country is, New York City also has a higher GDP than any other former communist eastern European nation. New York City is alone almost has 90,000 USD GDP per capita while the whole nation of Slovenia doesn't even 50,000 USD GDP per capita.
