Southern Illinois is so red they've been trying to secede from Cook county, Chicago, for a few years now but .. there aren't crazy Confederate flags and trucks like last time. There are actually Harris signs out and about. Way more Trump signs but the Harris signs mean ... no fear. The Democrats aren't afraid this time around. I see that as hope.
My hubby never voted before. Ever. I've been voting since I was 18. Literally. I registered in my 18th b-day and it was a presidential election year. Nobody took me or went with me. I've just always voted and hubby just never has. I've tried to get him to before but to no avail. Until Trump. One day he came up to me and asked me how to vote. And now ... he gets happy and points out every Harris sign he sees! Lol. I've created a Democrat!! Awwhaha! I've always been an Independent. I'm sorry to say the first person I voted for ... was Reagan. I'm ashamed now, of course, but I don't like officially choosing a side so I'll stay an independent and only vote Democratic until this religious frenzy dies down.
