The blatant corruption aside, it is also obvious that British voters -- like U.S. voters -- never retain the bitter lessons of history for very long.

They trust the Left, put the Left into power, get buried by the Left, wake up and elect conservatives to bail them out and fix what the Left broke; and then they vote for the Left again to restart the cycle.
