wdym bad choices? people are commiting suicide and killing themselves and other people and you're telling me "bad choices"? those are horrible choices, people have no purpose

Interesting take. Anything that goes opposite of what God dictates as good choices; don't kill, don't lie, don't steal, and the rest are, bad choices. We choose to lie, to steal, to kill, etc. When we choose to act in a manner that doesn't honor God and his word, bad things happen to us and to others. "Do unto others as you would have done unto you" very clearly speaks to this. We are all broken people living in a world where as you point out, people are doing horrible things to themselves and others. The message from God is we are each free to make whatever choices that we want but we don't get to choose the consequences.

you make a good point with the lowered expectations thing though, i can attest to that being true for the most part... heck, >i'm< a guy with low expectations, after choosing to no longer pursue perfection and accepting mediocrity (in most cases) because of the simple reason of "it'll never happen" or similar
people have also lowered their expectations and did all the other things you've mentioned, dunno the reason but i'd assume it's just the billionaires sucking their toes and egoes while normal people suffer... i truly dunno what the hell i'm yapping about anymore but it's not like anyone cares sooooo
