If we had strict immigration rules, even higher taxation on the working class, make money from oil drilling, had a small population, a small homogenous culture with low crime rates and could outsource our entire military defence and near enough 100% of all technological and medical advancements to other nations, we could probably do what they do

Obviously though theres various reasons why nordic nations are apples to most western nations oranges

America already has higher taxes on the working class, mainly in democrat run states like California but the difference between Democrat states and Nordic countries is that Nordic countries actually give you a lot in return for your tax dollar while California lets the state decay into chaos letting crime run rampant, doing nothing about the growing homelessness situation and having all your taxes line governor Newsom's pocket.

So you get my point. Many in America both on the left and the right think Scandinavian countries are "socialist" just for having robust welfare programs when in reality Scandinavian countries are actually the most free market countries according the Heritage Foundation's index of economic freedom. The left which are Bernie Sanders voters think those countries are "socialist" basically because they don't have their terms right and think the term "socialism" simply refers to government programs when in reality the term "socialism" refers to an economy where the means of production are owned and controlled by the workers according to Marxist theory. The right which are libertarian/ancap types think Scandinavian countries are "socialist" not only because they don't have their terms right buy also because they do seem to think that robust welfare programs are the same as Marxist socialism. Many of the welfare programs in these countries are also privatized to an extent so that's even more reason to not call these countries "socialist". Finland also left the totalitarian USSR in 1917 to become its own independent nation.

Their healthcare systems are privatized, their healthcare systems are what ate called "multi-payer" systems which have both an option of government funded healthcare insurance and providers and private insurance companies and providers. Still wrong... they're called National Health Care systems for a reason... they might contract out to the private sector, but it still is government owned and run.

They may be national healthcare systems but their healthcare systems are not completely government monopolized, yes it does have government regulations the private healthcare providers have to comply with but there are also private insurers so the government funded health insurance isn't too overloaded, their healthcare systems also have more private insurers and providers than Canada and the UK and I find this multi-payer healthcare system workers better than completely government monopolized single -payer systems.

Yes... private means you pay out of pocket if you want to skip the queue... but you're still paying for the public system...
