Attention Imgflip mod -- with the creative interpretations of the TOS -- This response is in reference to the meme and NOT the memer: ' Announcing a room temperature I.Q. to the nation . . . so leftist hot right now.'

I agree with the pledge of allegiance at any rate. As for nationalism, it depends on what you mean by that.

1st Amendment is great. Express yourself, but it doesn't make you right at a young age.

And yet, here you are. Wonder why that is.

I take it you won’t be supporting a proposal to make July Nationalism Pride Month?

There is nothing wrong with being patriotic. The pledge of allegiance shows that you support your freedoms and support your country. Many of the problems within our country stem from anti-patriotism.

Tell me what the point of being patriotic is. I just don't get it

It is supporting your rights and freedom. It is supporting what millions of men died to protect. It is paying respect to the fallen. It is honoring our rich history and the hardships that our people have gone through. It is supporting the most racially equal nation on Earth. It is supporting a country that millions travel to in hope of a better life. For all that America gives us, the least we can do is the pledge of allegiance and hanging up American flags. By not being patriotic and not showing respect to this country, you are disregarding your right to do just that. We were the freest country and we could be again. People just need to wake up.

"Do you know how many people died for this country"

Yes. About 80-100 million native Americans followed by 5 million slaves

Yes, they all died. It is a major travesty. However, look at us now. We are the most racially diverse and equal country on Earth. Also, name one country that has no blood on it's hands. I'm not trying to justify America's past actions, but Germany is a pretty good country now despite their past. Same with countries such as England, Japan, Australia, Spain and Italy. Every flag is covered in blood. But if America is so bad, then how come we have soldiers who go to war and die for it? Why do millions strive to come here? Why did MLK not just give up? People have forgotten just how good it is here. We don't have slavery anymore. We aren't slaughtering native Americans. We aren't conquering the west anymore. It is good to honor the people who have died, but using them as an excuse to complain about a country that many of them sought to have is not what they would have wanted.

I know all countries have blood on their hands

Yes. Comparatively speaking, America has far less casualties than many other places. We need to respect the people who died, but look at what we have now. We are the most racially equal and tolerant country in the world because of those who died.

Tolerant....sure.....I'm crying in my room because I did something the "wrong" way even though my way would work better
