It really doesn't matter which sex you're talking about. Either one claiming to choose a bear over a man are either being hyperbolic or are retarded. The funny thing about your comment is that no one is actually "invalidating" anyone's personal experience. Your personal beliefs and fears may be very real to you but are not actually credible or valid in reality.

More to the point, PTSD is no excuse for over the top irrationality. If I'm a white guy who repeatedly got beat up and robbed by thuggish black guys (or vice versa). My fear and paranoia of thug looking black guys would be valid but if one day a bear turned the corner and started walking towards me and on the other corner there's 5 black guy thugs..... I'm running towards the black guys and away from the bear. You'd have to be retarded not to recognize the threat level difference.

PTSD doesn't work like that, PTSD makes you hallucinate. Seeing a black man could make you hallucinate thugs running towards you, or you could get a panic attack so bad that you throw up/faint/get a migraine. It could re-trigger night terrors ect. Ect. PTSD is tough. I've got a lesser form, and I get a lot of audio hallucinations where I think ppl are yelling in the room over about me. It's not something you can't rationally overcome. I'm on venlafaxine. It lessens my anxiety to the point where the hallucinations are ppl calling my name. It's very nice. I recommend.

It isn't about whether someone's past trauma is real or not. I think everyone can agree and understand that women with a past traumatic experience have a legitimate reason for a phobia. That's not the problem. The problem that is being pointed out is the irrationality of the phobia and the hyperbole associated with the claim. Especially for those women (and young girls) who are dishonestly claiming to be more afraid of a man (stranger) than a bear don't even have a past trauma.

Anyway... It was a joke. I don't know of any courts that are defending the actions of a rapist or of a murderer. Even male officers when they arrive at a home over a domestic abuse situation almost always assume the woman did nothing and that the guy is guilty.
